Privacy policy

SEO Expert NZ ([Your registered company name, e.g. SEO Expert NZ Limited], "we", "us") collects and handles personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

What we collect

  • Information you give us through our contact and audit request forms: name, email address, phone number, website address and anything you write in a message.
  • Information collected automatically when you use this website: pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This is collected through Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled.
  • Information from clients during an engagement, such as access to Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Business Profile and website administration, used only to deliver the services agreed.

Why we collect it

  • To respond to enquiries and provide the audit or services you've requested.
  • To understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
  • To send occasional updates about our services, only if you've agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

We don't sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business (form handling, email, analytics, project management), each under their own privacy obligations, and where the law requires. Some of these providers store data outside New Zealand; we only use providers that offer comparable privacy protections.

How long we keep it

Enquiry details are kept for up to two years after our last contact. Client records are kept for seven years to meet tax and accounting obligations. Analytics data is retained for 14 months.

Cookies

This website uses a small number of cookies for analytics. It doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser without affecting your use of the site.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Contact us at [email protected]. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
